Why Row?
Why row a RoScooter?
Questions and Answers:
Q. – Why is row-ing so good for mobility compared to “push rims”?
A. – Because it:
- Does not cause RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury)
- Uses all available upper body strength for propulsion.
- Provides propulsion on both the Push and Pull
- Requires 50% less input force for the same output.
- No dirty hands, no wrist strain and very cool.
Additionally all our rides incorporate, braking, steering, gearing, reversing and a hybrid manual-electric option.
Q. – How to choose which ROTA is best for you?
A. Click here and we’ll send you the pathokinesiology data proving just how biomechanically efficient “Ro-ing” is and all the features and benefits of our rides.
The Department of Human Movement Sciences in Groningen determined that the ROTA Lever Drive required 50% less force than a push-rim wheelchair, delivered most effectively on both Push & Pull strokes in a rowing motion, as shown in this comparison between RoChair on the left and an ordinary wheelchair on the right:-
Note: The ordinary wheelchair only provides propulsion on the “push” and requires much more force, the main cause of RSI, completely overcome by the ROTA Drive!
